NIC SMITH
Today and tonight was one of the greatest nights I’ve had in a very long time, why? Because I got to see him,^ my oldest Best Friend, Nic Smith. I called Him recently to wish him a very happy 22nd Birthday and Today he was in town to celebrate. I haven’t seen him since his last birthday so It has been a while. Way too long if you ask me. we met up at Rosedale today, we passed by places that he may not remember, that I do because they are near and dear to me. One that he did remember was the U of M’s St. Paul Gym where we first met. I was 14 and he was 15 we were both attending the U’s Summer Youth Programs. we also passed by this abandoned mill close to Minneapolis where we took my senior pictures, Uncommon Grounds (to those I have taken, thank him for showing me this place), we also passed by Lake Calhoun where we’d walk at odd hours of the night and Cedar Lake where got caught swimming after a hours.
With out him I’d be lost in Minneapolis, He’s shown me everything that I needed to know. With him a cemented the base to what is my life now, Minneapolis. I love him, he’s not only my best friend by the closest thing that I’ve got to a brother since I’m an only child.
I’m just super happy that I got to spend the day with him.
Uncommon Grounds
I love this place, i am currently here with some close mates and as i was getting a drink the barista said she saw a tagged post of mine about this awesome little place and said that she woundered if she should follow me or not. to the most kick ass barista at uncommon, you should follow, I’ll def follow you back.
I know I have posted about this place but I can’t get enough, I’ve been going here since my freshmen year of High School and it is still the best. I love this cafe and the people that work there are just amazing, they are all very friendly and helpful when needed. The Owner of the place is just great and actually knows my name. I just got back home from another glorious evening with a close friend with a conversation filled with cigarettes and orgasmic chai tea lattes, the best! Anyone who lives in the Twin Cities Metro Area needs to come in at least once, a perfect summer hangout with an amazing atmosphere.
Summer so Far
I haven’t written on here in a while, but so far I have had an amazing summer with the people that I love. I’ve been adventuring all around the twin cities; hiking along the cliffs on the St. Paul side of the Mississippi, I Saw the Kills Last month with my friend Katie Harris, finally got to see A Clockwork Orange, and partied quite a lot, Foam Parties, Goth Prom, and Too Much love. This summer has been great, and I’m also working my butt off and trying to save up for rent for my new apartment on University Ave and 8th (I think). I’ll be moving further into Northeast Minneapolis.
Just yesterday I was at the beach with my friends Travis, Marin, Tatiana (http://tatianalovesu.tumblr.com/), and Katie. It was great to finally start tanning and go swimming in 97 degree weather. We’re planning on doing it again sometime soon, hopefully, I can get to Hidden Beach this time and jump in to the mud pool.
I also plan on hosting a Barbeque party at my families new house soon, may make it as a meet up for all the Tumblr’s of Minneapolis?
